Holiday Inn Express

This project included engineering design for the development of a 78-room franchise motel located on North Conway’s busy commercial strip. HEB responsibilities included obtaining all regulatory permits and presenting the project to local review agencies. Civil site planning, land survey, sewer and water utility connections, stormwater management, and parking lot configuration were part of the design process. A unique aspect of the project was its lack of any existing stormwater outlet. All water was retained on-site and discharged to the ground in infiltration trenches. HEB also prepared layout and landscaping plans. The building was located to maximize its visibility while maintaining a soft buffer of existing conifers, creating a sense of seclusion from the highway. The planting design enhances the building while defining circulation throughout the site, incorporating diverse species that provide seasonal interest throughout the year.
